The person behind the legend
Who they are
Mruno fled the Deadlands with the Golden Minotaur Guild asking inconvenient questions about money and flesh. He was once the frontman of the Silken Sonics, a famous troupe that replaced him with the spectacularly untalented Dark Bronson. Mruno treats danger as an audience problem: control the room, set the rhythm, insult the enemy, and leave through a secret tunnel before the second riot begins.

Mruno. Bruno. Not Mars.
The performer is Mruno Bars: tiefling vocalist, former frontman of the Silken Sonics, and a man whose stage name was apparently not confusing enough before disguises became necessary.
When the Golden Minotaur Guild and his former band came looking for him, Mruno became Bruno Bars. The disguise fooled most people, confused Grenak until facial hair was added, and attracted townsfolk who believed they had heard of someone named Bruno Mars. Mruno accepted the publicity. Correcting potential audience members would have been artistically irresponsible.

From the road
Notes in their own voice
Reconstructed from the surviving campaign record—not verbatim transcripts, but faithful to the person revealed at the table.
The Susie incident
“I was correct. She was a demon. History should focus on that and not on the color of my trousers afterward.”
Bruno Bars
“The disguise was flawless. Grenak merely lacks the artistic education to recognize subtle work without a giant moustache.”
Dark Bronson
“He believes the crowd was stunned into silence by genius. I almost respect the structural integrity of that delusion.”
People in their orbit
No one adventures alone, despite repeated efforts.
Dark Bronson
Talentless replacement, professional nemesis, and proof that confidence is not music.
Carly Beltweek
Aggressively devoted fan and owner of the secret route that saved the party after the bard battle.
The Golden Minotaur Guild
Creditors, pursuers, and people apparently incapable of appreciating an artist’s cash-flow difficulties.
Where the record stands
Alive after the red-light cliffhanger. The Golden Minotaur Guild is actively pursuing the party, so his past has become everybody’s present.
